Like thousands of others nationally, when the pandemic hit, Kylie lost her job and fell behind on rental payments, leading to the loss of housing. A single mother of two young sons, Kylie found herself with nowhere to turn for support.

Upon arriving at St. Mary's Center's Adult Family Shelter in Dorchester, Kylie was determined to achieve her goals and get back on her feet. Her dedicated team was with her every step of the way, helping her search for a new job, study English to perfect her skills, and even empowering her to purchase a car.

Today, she and her sons are thriving. Kylie is following her dreams of working for an airline and her two sons are following their mom's resilience and flourishing in elementary school. The family is happy and safe in a beautiful home of their own.

Kylie's story is just one of many stories of St. Mary's Center's incredible residents overcoming barriers through hard work and determination, working hand-in-hand with their supportive team to reach their goals and achieve long-term self-sufficiency.
